What is a good salary?

I suggest you proclaim it as rhetoric because you have no argument against it.

In simple terms:

Pay is too low. Houses are too costly. The cost of living has soared.

We are one of the global leaders in tax avoidance.
Our politicians declare essential services unaffordable.
The average house is now nearly 10x the median UK salary.
Our economic growth has stagnated for a decade.
We top up the pay of private sector low-paid workers.

Does that feel right to you?
Like it or lump it it’s the way of the world that doesn’t work on the basis of ideology. We are all economic units that can charge an economic rent for our services on the basis what other people are prepared to pay. If you think you are worth more just go out in to the jobs market and find somebody to pay you more. That’s how it works in the private sector.

Yet you support subsidised wages?

Nope, I support the going for the job. If the Government of the day decide on ideological grounds to top up someone’s income to encourage them to work for what ever reason, that’s up to them

I will sleep well tonight knowing I could lead your life anytime I like, but you will never be in a position to lead mine and that’s why we will never meet so no need to worry about avoiding me.

Nobody wants to live your life. Only very pathetic cunts have this sad obsession.

I pity you, only very insecure people have to flash the cash to get validation.

All that "wealth" and no heirs. What a sad bastard you are.

A good salary is subjective to the individual and his/her lifestyle and circumstances. I know people who earn a very modest salary and get by and I know a couple of people who earn £150k who struggle due to their lifestyle choices.

I’ve worked in the private sector, for a couple of PLCs, and am now self employed, engaging professionally with the public sector daily.

Based on my experience, the notion that the private sector (overall) is discernibly more efficient than the public sector is a fucking lie.

I’ve seen so much waste in large commercial organisations.

Large organisations (public and private) generally are to a significant extent wasteful and inefficient. Perfectly stands to reason.
As a self employed person then I assume your subject to market forces, your as good as your last job, you get paid what somebody thinks your worth and there is no Union behind you to artificially inflate your income by threatening to withdraw your labour on your behalf.

We have a different ethos, clearly.
I certainly do not value people purely on what they earn.
We can build a better society than one that speaks of people as economic units touting for the dollar.
We can have a fair taxation system and stop widespread avoidance, with will.
The additional revenues can be used to provide proper services, health and social care.
We can expect a decent day's pay for a decent day's work.

You can describe it as rhetoric, or wish good luck on getting a government to implement it. I describe it as a goal, a vision, and an achievable mindset.

Nope no sadness just enjoying life to the full, not bitter about anyone else and most importantly not relying on any one else to stand on my own two feet. Happy Days.
