What make of dog for a beginner?

Get an older dog from a shelter. They're already trained. They need less exercise. They won't run off and well, you know...

My advice is don’t get a puppy. Incredibly hard work. We have had ours for almost 5 months and there has been a few times when I have wished we hadn’t got one.
Youre right there. Great when it settles it down though and I found that Im glad I went through the hard part and persevered because it is now like I reared him. The pissing didn't bother me much but the incessant chewing was really hard work, couldn't leave him out of the cage unsupervised until he was well over a year old, the whole kitchen would have be eaten in a day Im sure of it. Brilliant to see their personality develop though and teach them the unique do's and dont's that suit your house and your routines.

Cockapoos are fantastic. They love being around people, love you unconditionally, don't shed, can walk for England, are highly intelligent and regular as clockwork. Ours is coming up for 4, he walks everywhere off lead (tin hat as some will scorn), he runs with me, walks for miles and miles, is fantastic around kids and other dogs but they are prone to separation anxiety. I walk him for an hour early doors for an hour, does his business and a good sniff round and then he crashes for the day. When I, or indeed any of the family come home, he greets you like you've been away for weeks on end, so loving, so loyal and even better, he doesn't complain, answer back or moan about sky sports being on. What's not to like?

Black labrador. It will be your best mate but for the first 2 years it will destroy you, your life and anything that you cherish and value. Utter twats but utterly brilliant.
Sheepdogs but they need working and training. Small dogs are for gays and wags.
I had a woman for years, black lab. Most cherished pet I ever had. Couldn't figure out if she was a genius or daft as a brush, there was no training her. The most wilfully loving animal I've ever seen.

My mam worked in a respite centre and the residents all adored her. As she got older she loved it there too so she pretty much stayed with them and brought them joy.

Bella. I'm nearly crying writing that

yes ours is coming on a bit now. Will still eat anything though so can’t take eyes of her, especially when in the garden.

walking my dogs last summer in the local park when a family came over to pet the dogs, the grandmother stayed a few feet away and wouldn’t come any closer,
She then started to cry and turned away , I said to the rest of her family if she was ok , they said that she had the same breed dog for years but it died a few months before and carnt get over it , I talked to her daughter for a little while longer and she said she wanted to get her another one but couldn’t afford it, by the time we parted I was choked to fuck with tears in my eyes, supposed it’s like loosing one of your family , dreading the day it happens to any of mine.
