I know we've got all week but this is the way I think we'll line up....

-------------Given-------------
Onouha---Toure--Kompany---Bridge (if not fit Zaba)
-----------De Jong------------
--------Vieira------Barry------
-------Tevez------Bellamy----
-----------Adebayor----------

I would like to see a change at left back and other than that keep it the same as it has been, but just think he'll put an extra man in midfield and want to use Vieira's experience. Who do you think will start?

----------Tevez----
Tevez--Tevez--Tevez--Tevez
-Tevez-----Tevez-----Tevez
-----Tevez------Tevez---
----------Tevez-----------

He'll be right up for it and all over the fucking place!

Haha, true mate, he's going to be so up for it!

---------------Given---------------

Onuoha---Toure---Kompany---Bridge

Bellamy---De Jong---Barry---Johnson

--------Adebayor-----Tevez--------

We'll need Bellamy's work ethic on the right to help Onouha counter Evra's attacking threat along with which other winger Baconface uses on the left.

............Adebayor..........................

Bellamy...............................Johnson
..............Barry.............................
........................De Jong...............

Bridge.....Kompany....Toure.....Onuoha

I'm going with this although Tevez has proved he can operate alone well and we could pack the midfield out and counter attack. But then we have that problem in the 1st leg of the carling cup when we didnt pressure them and they passed it around for 20+ minutes

Given,

Onouha, Toure, Kompany, Bridge

De Jong, Barry,

Johnson, Tevez, Bellamy

Adebayor

Same again, Tevez to come deep into the the attacing midfield role like he has been doing much more of recently. We have scored 11 games in our last 2, full of confidence, we have the players to match United, why start changing it. We can play with no pressure thanks to some good results, enjoy ourselves and really give united a game.

-- Mon Apr 12, 2010 1:13 am --

Looks like we all seem to agree. Sorted.

Except the OP, would you not sooner Zab in the middle than Vieira, esp against United.

Adebayor - Tevez
Bellamy - De Jong - Zabaletta - Johnson
Barry - Toure - Kompany - Onouha
Given

balance is key. Vieira Garrido SWP RSC on the bench.

I have more faith in Garrido than I do in either DeJong or Vieira. One's the worst passer I've ever seen and one's beyond slow. Garrido on the other hand has poor positional sense but is less of a liability.

I'd tend to play as today though with Johnson, Bellamy, Tevez and Adebayor.

IMO United's biggest threat is not Rooney, it's teams sitting back and letting them shot and cross countless balls into the box pingpong style. Eventually a lucky touch or a ref's decision or a bit of genuine skill (Rooney mostly) and they grab a lead.

So attack them from the off, hopefully get the opening goal and then pick them off again and again. :-)

well we'll be starting with about 18 players as Tevez is gonna be so up for it that he's gonna be everywhere

I don't think its a coincidence that our run of good form lately has coincided with Barry's return to form.

Barry needs to stay in midfield. He really makes us click when he's on song.

given
Onouha Toure Kompany Zaba
Johnson De Jong Barry Bellers
Tevez
Ade

For me.

Onouha---Kompany---Toure---Bridge

Bellers---------Tevez---------Johnson
----------------Ade-----------------

Same as today. Maybe Uncle Pat instead of Nigel I guess?

I reckon the Rags' attacking football plays right into our hands. If they over-commit, the front four of Johnno, Greg, Carlos, and Ade will have a field day. Bellers already took the piss out of Ferdinand at the Shit Tip, can't wait for him to do it again.

It will be interesting to see whether Mancini sacrifices a forward for a DM. Hopefully not though and he goes unchanged. This side is on a good run and is full and confidence and goals. I'm tired of seeing us sit back against United and try to hit them on the break. We fi ally have a team good enough to have a real go at them, so why not?

Uniteds danger comes via the wings as they are pretty weak in central midfield these days. It will be Evra and Nani vs Ned and Johno. Probably Rafael and Valencia vs Bridge and Bellers. It's crucial that we win those battles. With a 442 they will be relunctant to send as many men forward and that will play to our hands.
