What Year Did You First Use Internet?

I became an amateur masturbator around 96/97 when we had limited sites, rar and par files and newsgroups etc. Then turned pro around 98 when we had broadband and streaming.

I may of used it before as we had computers in the house From the early 80's running a variety of OS's such as MS-DOS...But I dunno if I used the 'net until maybe the mid 90's with a PC running Windows95 which had Internet Explorer.
So I'd be around 9/10yrs old.

Started using it more in 1999 when the Sega Dreamcast was launched as it had a built-in browser.

What got me hooked was Downloading really low quality audio files, like old Ringtones for phones (I'd sell them to kids at school)
And eventually started selling copied Movies/Music at College (naughty me)

I remember going to the Cyberia cafe(opposite the old Odeon on Oxford Rd) and using it in awe and amazement. Think it was £3.60 for half hour. haha

Around mid 90's

Christ, I remember it all too well. Not sure what machine I was running then .... Maybe ZX 81. Or a Spectrum ??? needed about 12 fingers to operate it .... Stoke folk were OK

Ii was 2009 when I was got the internet at home and it was 1998 when I first used a computer having moved to a job where I needed to use one, have been a cinema projectionist from 1978 until 1997 where one wasn't needed, I got made redundant after the cinema was forced to close due to lack of business when a multiplex opened near by, I then ended up working in a call centre where computers were needed.

1998, I think, when I bought an iMac. No search engines back then, or at least, I never discovered them. Had a list of no more than 8 internet sites to look at. First heard of e-mail in about 1994, but couldn't understand why people couldn't just phone each other!
