A mate asked me this earlier today, and I thought it would be interesting to hear you answers to these questions. Some of the answers, I guess, will be very common among City supporters.

My friend asked me, "What's the first thing that comes to your mind, when I say:"

1. That player
2. That game
3. That pass
4. That freekick
5. That goal

My replies were:
1) Aguero
2) 6-1 derby
3) Silva to Dzeko, also the 6-1 derby
4) Elano, against Newcastle
5) Surprisingly enough, the first goal I thought about was Aguero's left footed rocket, against Chelsea back in 2013.

What would be your answers?

Cheers

I'll have a stab - nearly 50, so some may not stand out to others.

1. Peter Barnes - 76 league cup final was the start
2. 81 FA cup final - gutting as it was the 2 games stand out. (Gillingham will ALWAYS be the game that counts the most)
3. Balotelli to Aguero - would we be here now??
4. Pick one from Yaya's 2013/14 collection
5 . Horlock - volley from a Bernabia corner right in line with my seat in the Kippax

(Edited - these are just some of my memories, doesn't mean I don't love what I've seen/seeing now)

1) David Silva
2) QPR game to win the Premier League title
3) Ditto - Silva to Dzeko
4) Paul Power 1981 FA Cup semi final v Ipswich at Villa Park (though from memory the ball was touched to him so not sure if it counts as a free kick)
5) Vincent Kompany header v MUFC in title winning season

1. Aguero
2. QPR
3. Balotelli to Aguero
4. Elano vs Newcastle
5. Agueroooo

I reckon as soon as you think of Aguero for that player, at least a couple of your answers are going to be based on 'that game'.

1. That player ( Tevez )
2. That game ( 6-1)
3. That pass ( Silva to Dzeko )
4. That freekick ( Tevez vs Stoke )
5. That goal ( Aguero )

Bert Trautmann (Dave Ewing second!)
Three games over Christmas in the 60s - Rotherham and Scunthorpe, can't remember who we played twice, but nigh on twenty goals in the three games!
Any one of two hundred Silva assists.
Carlos free kick that was going eight feet wide when it set off. Can't remember who that was against.
Elano v NUFC
Agueroooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Colin Bell
City 5 Shalke 1 (ECWC Semi Final)
Silva to Dzeko
Summerbee (indirect free kick vs rags - Stepney parried it into the net)
Yaya (Wembley FA Cup semi final)

1. Aguero
2. City vs Blackburn, March 1996. My first match, ended in a draw but i was hooked. Then we got relegated.
3. Silva, 6-1
4. Elana vs Newcastle
5. Agueerrrrrroooooooooooo

Just checked for you. You are quite right. The season was 1963/64: Rotherham 6-1, Scunnie 8-1 & 4-2 away. I went to both home games.

It's funny how these questions will for most blues get similar answers. I wonder how many other clubs would feel like that. We've had such an iconic moment, I'm not sure that it will ever get beaten. To be seconds away from losing out on the title to the Rags... that game, and that goal will live long in the memory.

My answers;

Aguero/Silva - they both pop into the head
QPR game
Silva's pass v the Rags... sensational technique in such an iconic game. Probably even more important was Balotelli's pass to Aguero for his goal, slipping over and hooking it into his path it was the perfect weight for Aguero to slip Onuouha's sliding tackle and bury the ball in the net.
Elano free kick vs. barcodes
Aguerooooooooo
