Maxwell hall. Saw James there in 86.When a like isn't enough......
If that's at Salford Uni, I'm in there somewhere in the middle to the right

I know mate, I picked this one in the end because they had all their best stuff on show and for the scale of it. A miracle they were there after the excesses of the Devotional Tour and on top form despite the loss of AW who could never be replaced.Depeche Mode are a strange one for peak. The clip you posted can't really be their peak as Alan Wilder was well gone by then.
Their peak, caught on camera, would have to be the Pasadena Rose Bowl (101). The ironic thing about that, is that was filmed before they released their greatest 2 albums.
There is a video from the Devotional Tour, which was when they were at their peak creatively. But, they all went nuts during that tour and they were never the same after that.
Hard to say if this was their peak because they have reached so many highs, this is up there though.
He's an ignorant little shitsaw johnny marr in the garage(M&S)near the airport the other day :)
reckon '88 was peak Depeche.
101 is right up there with my favourite albums…Their best 2 albums and tours came after this, they were just getting warmed up!
