When did you get into football/City?

I dont remember becoming a City fan as I always have been !

As a Lad my only match going would be at Easter when visiting my grandparents. We would all go 3 generations.

In the 70's till 80's my only City news would be the football pink that grandad would post every monday.

61 now !

I was 13.
Before then I used to go the central league games.
I seem to remember getting in for nowt.

1977 Bristol City at Maine road we won 2-0 and I was hooked got my first season ticket in 1980 kippax junior I think it was £6 great days

First game in October 1994 aged 3 (roofless new Kippax, beat Spurs 5-2) and went to far more over those early years than I can remember. Became obsessed after the Gillingham game though, up until then games were probably a bit of a blur to me.

Something that supplemented my interest too was the availability of Italian football on C4. Every Sunday afternoon I'd be there, hoping Lazio were playing as I took a shine to their colours.

My dad went to Wembley for the City v Birmingham FA Cup Final in '56. I watched the game on a rented TV. My dad took me to Maine road later that year but I can't remember the game. What I do remember is climbing the steps and then seeing the pitch for the first time, a vast expanse of green. I had a club scarf, a wooden rattle (painted it myself) and a frozen triangular shaped Jubbly.

City where 2 nil down with about 14 minutes to go and needed just a win ti win the league. Didnt really like them but then they equalised and when the German lad scored what turned out ti be the winner, I started to think these are pretty cool. Since then ive been hooked

I only became a City fan in 2014. When United become good again I'll become a red again.

From 8 years old, in the 80s. Grew up in North Wales but the old man was from Manchester so I followed in his footsteps. Along with my brother and sister we were the only blues in a school of 1000 kids and got dogs abuse at times, from the plastic rags and dippers, who never went to a game. Used to go to 8-10 home games a season as a kid and now take my own kids about the same amount. They've only known us to be successful but I'm glad I was there through the tough times. It makes me appreciate the success even more.
