When fast food becomes gourmet grub

The corporations profit is obscene, and those profits are partly as a result of primarily employing a particular subset of the workforce.

Minimum wage is minimum wage, the corporation makes money from the franchises if the franchises are cut to the bone then employment happens.

To many people a minimum wage job is to get them through uni/college or maybe a summer job or a job that gets you on the rung of a ladder, it seems now that people can't understand that wages go up so do prices then people stop buying and the place shuts or just lays off workers.

Was thinking of ordering a curry from the local takeaway until I saw the price and decided against, I can't justify spending nearly £40 on a couple of curries.

The interesting take from that for me was that the minimum wage for fast food workers in California is being raised to $20 an hour, the industry is either pricing itself out of a job or the employees are pricing themselves out of work.

The price of an average takeaway curry house has shot up. A couple of curries, rice and a naan isn't a cheap meal nowadays.

Oh don't I know it. And whichever way it's justified, it still means as a customer (and also having increases in costs in running a home) then I'll not buy as often, which then further hits their business.

Not good all round.
I used to like eating out and the odd takeaway but now everything has just gone ridiculous. 15-20 on top of a £16 curry for two isn’t good value. They even charge for individual chutney trays which can add up. You’re better off cooking at home with an air fryer than paying £30 plus for steak and chips in a pub. It’s mostly frozen food anyway. Robbing sods.

Had my favourite hangover cure yesterday from Maccy D’s. Filet of fish, cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks.
Sorts me every time and delivered piping hot.
People just think it’s cool to knock the gaff these days. I couldn’t give a rats arse, there’s always a time and place for one.

I can't see how people class it as a main meal though, a bit of a filler that as you say tastes good but living on them is a bit too much.

I stopped eating chicken curry from overpriced takeaway when they started to use cubed chicken that looks like cat food.
