Fast food is fast approaching death, nothing else! Burgers, knock off pizzas, (donner) kebabs, burritos, etc, it is all the same nutritional garbage. The same goes for 99.9% of takeaways.

It all adds up and they're almost certainly making way less profit than you think.
As said above, I get exactly whey etc. But higher prices will put off many using so often. A vicious circle for them.

There’s a campaign for VAT reduction for hospitality businesses but I can’t see it going anywhere.

Piping hot ? Really ?Had my favourite hangover cure yesterday from Maccy D’s. Filet of fish, cheeseburger and mozzarella sticks.
Sorts me every time and delivered piping hot.
People just think it’s cool to knock the gaff these days. I couldn’t give a rats arse, there’s always a time and place for one.

That isn't how things work, if people can't afford the product the product gets cut. No profit in the business they'd move it to China if they could.
Wages for all going up means prices for all goes up, fist pumping your way to unemployment isn't a good look.
So this is a really interesting statement.
The question is why should a lower skilled employee be left behind and struggling to pay for any living costs?
A) You could make sure the 'unskilled' food worker gets better skills to move on to something that pays better... But, where would that leave chains for employees? Would you then just employ the youth of 16-18 in all outlets and keep cycling after those workers get older?
Or
B) One could stop inflation rising every year.
As soon as we, as general working people get a pay rise in Jan - April, inflation rises as well as rent, tax and council tax.
What's the answer...?

Trick is with fries Phil is order them without salt, they have to make them fresh for you, take a sachet of salt away with you. They're known as Macca's in Oz I have one now and then but I prefer Hungry Jacks burgers.
