What happened to the Alsatians/German Shepherds that would patrol the flat roofs?

Just wondered after seeing an old picture, and remembered the Queen Vic on grey mare lane had 2

Probably went with the landlords.

Make a pub feel more homely seeing the security dog to me.

All the pubs on the estate I was brought up on have shut been knocked down and been built on now

I just remember when young you would pass a boozer and suddenly hear manic barking, look up and see one or two dogs staring down at you, but never daft enough to jump off.

Nobody could ever get them down off the roof and they became too aggressive to let anyone up. As a result they sadly all had to be left while the buildings were demolished on top of them. Hidden national scandal, basically genocide. Public enquiry should be held, Tshirts printed with Justice For Sheba and a no justice no peace campaign of looting and burning initiated

I sometimes wonder I some posters wake up and think 'right I am going to out do a Worsley thread.'
Genuinely saw a tweet this morning of the above picture and wondered where they went, I forgot most on here are from the more poncy parts of south manchester / cheshire and never been in an estate pub in their life, but knew a few inner city ruffians and scallywags still post here and may be able to help with my ponderings
