Where do the glory hunters sit?

I think I must be a plastic fan then.

I don't go to games - I can't. Not enough money and I'm the only footie fan in the family. Although I've tried to get my daughter interested, she's still not fussed about the divine game, and I can't justify either the money to go with a disinterested child or the time to go at weekends on my own (single parenthood has its benefits as in I don't have an idiot of an ex husband around, but it also has its downsides).

Should I trot out my Maine Road credentials to justify it though? Used to go week in week out with my dad as a child and have been to matches since before sprog came along. Does that make me not plastic? Or should I just hang my head in shame that I have to watch matches on tv?

I think I'll just say fuck it to anyone who is mean spirited enough to doubt the fact that I'm a fan of this club and will be till I turn up my toes. I don't have anything to prove and as a female, at least I don't have to get into the "my dick is bigger than yours" type contests that go on ;-)

I know most of the people who sit near me.
For the Swansea game there was one new face near me.
So my question is this:

Where are our new plastics going to sit?

Why call them plastics?.......I would welcome any new supporters, if we wish this club to grow lets welcome them all and teach them the history of this great club, remember when we are gone they will be the old breed!

At home, safe and secure with their TVs

There's blokes who've been going 40 years but do nothing but sit, piss and moan for 90minutes about anything. Plenty of sub human arseholes around the ground too, I'm all in favour of new fans, those empty seats won't fill themselves and hey, maybe one day blues can go to COMS without some half arsed hooligan wannabe questioning their previous attendances.

Besides, check the dates of when a lot of the older posters got in to City, most coincide with MCFC being fucking brilliant. It's not just the kids who are glory hunting but the silver streaked piss balls in CB stand!
i really find the second paragraph quite offensive and the first the opposite of the second, have they been here forty years or are they glory hunters?

no bigga blue shit here but i'm in my fifties as are a few of my mates who are regulars, i don't go and piss and moan, even on here
and like a few of us old gits we weren't perhaps into internet forums as some of the younger guns were
dates of joining don't have any bearing on length of supporting city

i'll take my silver hair to CB today as i have before, i'll have a piss but not moan, except about the shit half time service, then i'll ask me kids to show me how to get on the internet thingy again

i just think you have a thing about oldies

Aren't these topic getting a lil old now days...any club that is in a decent league with awesome players and CL games will have supporters that are not local... comes with success and being mentioned in news....consider even having ppl buying shirts and stuff, and probably never attend a home game for as long as they live. (me included...although i did try to get a ticket for Bayern game which means going over 5 country borders)
So yeah don't worry m8 ....many plastics sit at their home watching games on telly from different time zones. Deal with it....or don't
Your call...

Chelsea didn't get glory hunters. Their crowds are no bigger now than they were in the past. I think it will be the same for us. We'll get the odd ones here n there - like that father and daughter in the Family Stand last season who weren't celebrating AJohnson's winning goal, they were just sat there clapping and they were clear to see on screen - but it's still the same faces home and away, in the pubs, on the trains, on the coaches, in the stands.

This is a shit thread.....have never had the money to attend on a week in week out basis and dont mind admitting it (still havent).....does it make me a glory hunter....er no. I went to every Europa league match last year at home and plenty of others, have a ticket for Sat and Wednesday.

Listened to all the games on GMR I didnt attend when we were in the third tier of English football (attended around a half dozen), went Wembley for the play off final without a ticket and could not afford a ticket off the touts. Watched in a pub next to Wembley with some cockney red watching the champs league final replay in the background - screamed the place down when Dickov scored and weaver saved those pens... was at Hillsborough watching Keegan's army destroy Wednesday with the new Ali B ruling the pitch, chanted ALI ALI ALI, hands waving up and down in the air...

So when I turn up to watch my beloved blues on Sat in a seat I ve never sat in before and probably will never sit in again, do I really have to sit around self trumped up tossers concentrating on negative bullshit instead of being immersed into a carnival of happy bubbly blues???

If this unwelcoming atmosphere is what our club is going to become then I might just not bother trying to introduce my nephew to the blues as this is not what I remember from the spirit and passion that used to exist in the KIPPAX. ctid - shit thread, sort it out!
Fair play never judge anybody in a blue shirt not everybody can afford every game.
The difference here is that he's a City fan. He hasn't got a wrdrobe of Liverpool shirts from the 80's, United shirts from the 90's, a Blackburn shirt, the odd Arsenal shirt and a few recent Chelsea shirts and has now decided to be a City fan as they has a chance to win stuff. There will be a shit load if these fickle fuckers around the world - even some in this country. Usually these are losers in life who attach themselves to a good team to get some reflected glory in their lives. It's not the same as being a life long City fan who hasn't been in a position to have gone to all the games down the years!

I was just using the age thing as an example. I go to most games with my dad who's in his 50s so I've nothing against you old timers :)

I meant also that a lot of blues who've been fans for 35/45 years did indeed come to the club at a time of great success. 1967's glory hunter can turn into 2011's hardcore fan just as a 2011 new boy will hopefully stick it out and be an old timer come 2040, trophies or not!

As for the stuff re the forum and when we joined, I absolutely agree and I'd never use someones registration date against them unless I was trying to wind them up.

A blue is a blue is a blue.

I've already taken photos of Chinese with their new city shirt inside the stadium, and that was 2 seasons ago! Must be plenty more daytrippers now.
