i see him playing but he isnt there why is he still played hes took elanos place carnt be arsed look true?? money gone to the poor kids head? i feel he needs a rest to sort his bald napper out

clearly not at his best at the moment, not sure what's up with him, carries on like this he will be playing for his place!

i'm sure the lad will find his form.

In ireland we trust.

Probably finding it harder to find his role because Barry is as competant and skillful as they get in England for central mid bar Gerrard and Lampard who are better. Lets keep in mind Ireland is still only 22 or something.

I also reckon he's missing Robinho on the pitch as they have a great understanding, how many goals have they set up for each other? Loads. Also he said in an interview that he tends to go forward more towards the middle of the second half when teams start to get messy; harder to do that with Bellamy, Adebayor AND Tevez already up front in some matches.

He'll get better as the season goes on and the more he plays, but I'd not argue against him missing a few games and taking a break (note: not dropped).

think it is more to do with what he is being told to do by the manager.doesnt come to the edge of the box at corners and stopped bursting from midfield at every opportuinity.
or maybe the opposition are stopping him from playing.
he does what he is told without moaning,no song and dance, just gives his best.

Any player who doesnt play to their known potential will be on the bench. Thats why Hughes bought so many players.

Too bad it doesnt seem to happen to Richards though.

He'll Return!

Like The Commic Book! 'Superman RETURNS! 2 Save The Day Awell Hopefully:)

Spot on. He'll be back just hope some of our fans who used to slag off Ireland don't start coming out of the woodwork.

Personally, think he has been carrying a knock and has been asked to fulfill the defensive duties on left side of center midfield, which (with the back four still looking dodgy) is taking alot of time and effort. Also, when we break, it is often from a more forward position and FAST, which makes it considerably harder for him to get up with the action.

The good thing is that even though he has been a bit off, his workfare has been maintained as top notch. Maybe a rest will do the lad good? NDJ has done the business, so leave him in for Fulham game and let GB get about a bit more.
