Which foreign teams do you have a soft spot for and why?

Levante Union Deportivo. I was holidaying in Valencia a few years ago and decided to book on a tour of the Mestalla, Valencia’s stadium. It was on the tour that the tour guide explained about the trophies and pennants on display in the trophy room. He pointed out a pennant from Levante UD and explained they were the ‘other’ team in Valencia and smugly added that they were only a small team. That was it. The next day I cycled over to the Ciutat de Valencia (Levante’s stadium) and bought myself a Levante t-shirt. I didn’t even know there was another team in Valencia but as soon as that tour guide mentioned them, I knew they were going to be my team forever.
 
FC Ingolstadt 04.

I fell in love with Bavaria after our game against Bayern in 2011, which happened to be during Oktoberfest. Eventually stumbled across Ingolstadt, a town famous for being where Frankenstein is partially set, Audi is based and where the Illuminati is found. Spoke to a few people and began following them in late 2014, incidentally when Hasenhüttl was in charge.

First visited in December 2015, made a load of mates over there, do the English media for the club and have been in the media over there quite a bit. Best trip I have done to support them was in the Summer of 2016, when I went to watch them away at Erzgebirge Aue in the first round of the DFB Pokal.

All in all, very weird.

Yes they were awesome. I was convinced they’d win it that year but they didn’t. Interesting that they still persist with only Basque players. I don’t think that’s a good idea in the modern inclusive world.
 
Bayern, Barca, Real Madrid and Juve, like all American bandwagoners.

No no — mine is Hamburg as it’s my favo(u)rite city in Germany and Vinny came from there. I also like Braga for their incredible stadium and I do love Portugal. And Vitesse Arnhem despite their Chelsea affiliation as a I met few players in the side many moons ago when there. Really nice fellows.
 
Ajax for Cruyff and the strip. Also Barcelona for the same reason. Apart from my City team and Brazil, these two clubs were my subbuteo favourites and ones i tried to follow. Great footballing sides
