Which foreign teams do you have a soft spot for and why?

I actually prefer Dundee United and Hibernian over Rangers but they’re not going to win the league. I simply want Rangers to beat Celtic and I suspect that’s the case for most of the blues on that thread.

The reason for the “celebrating” is because our resident Bhoy was on here last night proclaiming the stuffing Rangers were about to receive.

His utter delusion that today was a great day for Celtic has only added to the delight.
don't dispute that. As a blue I couldn't really celebrate a team winning a game like that even if I liked them (other than City as it would be a jammy payback sort of victory we deserve) given I've sat through my share of games being nicked off us when we should have buried opponents.

Anyway, Caley Thistle and RC Lens for me. Also Wolfsburg in recent years as I worked there for a while.

I’m planning to take in a Wolfsburg match. Looking at the fixtures, it seems that Union Berlin, Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig are all at home on the same weekend most weeks.

I’d like to stay in Berlin and travel to the other two.

How did you like it there? Did you do the VW factory?

Also have a thing about Lens after turning off the motorway on the way to Disneyland Paris at the wrong junction and finding myself in Lens. I know, some fucking wrong turn.

We were so close to the stadium. I asked the missus if we could nip in for a badge from the shop but she had that look in her eye that suggests she might stab me in the face at any second.

The audacity of having a red and yellow hooped kit isn’t lost on me.

I worked in it!

Wolfsburg is like a post-apocalyptic version of Stockport, but as a miserable Mancunian it was oddly familiar and I felt oddly bonded with the locals who had to put up with living there.

Do a Draxler and stay in Berlin.

Around the millennium it was Deportivo La Coruna.
they were a small club in size compared to Madrids Barca etc, but were very exciting to watch and won me plenty of money when betting on them, especially when they beat Barca in the Nou Camp around this time.
Later after a good 3 nights session in Germany when we beat Schalke under Mark Hughes, i had a soft spot for them.
I was in the Schalke end and had a laugh and a beer with them while the game was playing. A great stadium and great hospitality while i was there

For me, The old Cork Hibernians in Ireland were my first love. Even before City. I followed them for years (Rodney Marsh played a game for them too cerca 1977 or so). They were wound up shortly afterwards; probably because they paid old Rodder's too much...:)
Over here, I live near Gillette Stadium so my local team are the New England Revolution. But if course, I always look out for NYFC, but not too much. Of the other ones I have a soft spot for, I always like Inter Milan since the 60. Lazio for the kit, plus I went to one of their games at the Statio Olimipico back in 1998. Used to like Barcelona and Bayern way back in the day. Not any fucking more. Really no-one else. Been here in the US too long I suppose...

Valencia for me.Love the place, old and new parts, lovely people, great food, amazing beaches and nice stadium.
Neville was deemed too ugly to live there, that's why they got rid, lowered the tone of the entire city.
Reminds me of when Real Madrids president saw the squad photo for the start of a new season.
He was aghast that someone so ugly as Angel Di Maria could play for the club.
He was quickly moved on to the "ugly branch" of a football team.....Man Utd
