Which is best and why? XBox or PS3?

Looking to buy one or t'other as Xmas prezzie for the lad. PS3 looks better in terms of hardware but perhaps doesn't have enough games for it that capitalise on this?

Depends what he likes, also one thing you should consider is that the ps3 has free internet and online play, whereas with an xbox you have to pay to get a live subscription. Apart from that there isnt much of a difference

If you get a Ps3, get uncharted 2. One of the best games in a long while.

XBOX, loads more games and the XBOX live is fantastic!...I used to be a Play Staition man until i got my XBOX and i would never go back.

Indeed also if you have a HD tv and a hdmi cable you can get a brilliant picture

Xbox is cheaper, but you'll probably spend more on Xbox live over the years.

I'd go for PS3.
