Who has the youngest best XI and youngest squad, us or rags?

we could be playing 11 sixteen year olds and win the champs league and uniteds would be younger and better according to sky and the media?

There's a whole universe of football out there. Who cares? Ours are better looking (without Tevez.)

Sure I read somewhere that we had the youngest or second youngest average age of starting elevens in the Prem last season. But of course, no big deal was made of that by certain sections of the media.

After watching the pace and energy of Spain's under 21's, and Barca's young players like Thiago Alcantara tearing holes out of experienced internationals, it made me sit up and take notice of what a young team can achieve. In the community shield, utd were trailing 2 goals, and what did they do to turn it around? They removed their most experienced players and replaced them with Cleverley, Jones and Evans. Everyone saw what happened over the next 45 mins, and also in recent league games. I read a quote from Rooney the other day where he said that it's great playing with a young team, because they do more running for each other on and off the ball, which is great for ball retention and finding the killer pass, whereas older players tend to be more static. So far this season you have to say to yourself, the Barcelona result really hurt them and they have learned from it...also they might just be onto something with the pace and energy of a younger, more hungry side?

Good post Zonalmarking

The way spains kids are playing is unreal, and the movement we are making is very good also.

But when it comes to a difficult game we could lose out on experience. Even Young who is one of our older 11 at the moment doesnt have much big game experience, so we could lose out there.

On paper your first 11 looks scarily good! Ours looks young and it is hard to gauge the two because of that

Oh aye, you can see a really young side being outmuscled physically and mentally by a more experienced side, but it's in those games that the old guard play. It's finding the right blend thats the difficult part.
