I was on that special. Fun and games that day. On the pitch and police dogs on long leads on the way back to the station.

Funny, we were chatting about this on Saturday. More specifically the stewards who used to work on them. There was Pete, Dennis, Ian, Steve, Graham. Still see them all from time to time. But no one can remember seeing the guy who used to organise the whole thing, Howard, for many a year. Really nice bloke as well. Does anyone know if he’s still knocking about?

Remember it well. Although my recollection was the horses were wandering around on the track, not dead. But who knows? Maybe both at various times actually?

Remember the trip to London, possibly Tottenham, when it broke down right alongside a garage on a council estate? Threatened to get a bit interesting when I think a racist comment was thrown in the direction of the garage workers and they summoned back up.
