Who now then?...

Oy, fuck off with your facts and shit - no place for them in here.
Cmon he acting like we all stopped flapping we didn’t get Jorginho, the goat the best midfielder we’ve ever been linked with :D

Verratti is world class, Weigl is not. The reason I mentioned that Weigl rarely wins headers is that he`s quite tall (almost 6 feet and 2 inches) and with that height, he should be able to win a lot of headers. I don`t think Verratti is the ideal player for us, but he`s certainly way better than Weigl

Who said we need a world class player? Or that we’re even after someone “world class”?

The issue is that Weigl is slight and doesn’t have the best build, but that’s easily fixable with our staff and resources at the CFA. Any weaknesses that our targets have will be well known to those in charge with an aim to improve them, and we’ll only target players that have the skill set we want.

It’s also worth remembering that we have Pep at the helm, someone who played that position for Barcelona and it’s arguable the most important role in this system. I have 100% trust in him to bring in a player capable of doing that job, whether that’s Weigl or someone else we’re in safe hands for that role.

To dismiss a player the way you have while comparing to him to another who is worse at the things you mention, is laughable.

What, you mean like happened with ‘Superman’? Or maybe Steve Austin.

Dodgy talk to me that is.

The issue with Weigl is nothing to do with his build or stature or goalscoring ability.

It's that he's only looked good enough for 8 or 9 months, and that was in 2015/16. For 2 seasons now he's been poor, and then he added a major injury into the equation on top of that.

That's why no one has come in for him yet, and IMO it's why he's not going to be our secret signing we're supposedly working on.

When did I say that? I only said that Verratti is world class and I would rather have him over Weigl. Never said that we`re after a world class player

Correct. I'm quite excited about what Pep could do with Weigl's talent. If we sign him of course.

I think people forget that Laporte (for example), was seen as stagnant before we bought him. John Stones joined us after a bad/average season at Everton. But he bought them because he liked their style. And because he saw their potential.

Pep doesn't just buy just players who are on the up.

I’m only mentioning the build thing due to the “he should be winning for headers for his height” argument.

I agree he has been poor since his first season, but that coincides with Dortmund’s decline and their manager sackings/hirings. I really think Pep would get the best out of him and I’d have him here in a heartbeat.

Okay, sorry, I`ll go and watch some youtube highlights videoes of him instead then. So much better than actually watching full games

I don't think it's right to base assumptions on watching full games as well. Playing for a different coach who has a different approach matters too. Last season Bosz was pants so it's hard to say how bad Weigl was. Fernandinho was highly criticized in the WC. That's because a lot of people think he's a good DM, but he's not at the level or Casemiro or someone like Kante. He can't get around as much as those 2. When asked to play as DM in a side that can't keep the ball as well as we do, he suffered. He had to play next to Paulinho who was horrible. Jorginho didn't seem to do too well against us today, but I'd assume in our side he'd fit in as well.
