Who now then?...

Most people are forgetting both games against Monaco when him Fabinho and Bernado bossed the midfield. He has had one shit season under a manager who was on his arse and all of a sudden he is shite??

Mark my words when this guy leaves Chelsea and comes back to haunt them I will be the one sharing this thread and large slices of humble pie.

Chelsea got Kovacic and Jorginho. They're pinching themselves at how lucky they are to not rely on Bakayoko any more.

And when he doesn't come back to haunt Chelsea and proves he is crap will you come back still?

Kante, Jorghino, Kovavic
Dinho, KDB, Silva

Would say we are better except for the fact the Chelsea trio have age on their side.

With Chelsea's sudden surplus in midfield, I'd be more tempted to put a £35M bid in for Loftus Cheek and see what they say...

Here's what people forget.

The riskiest position in football is DM. How many have come to the PL with great reps and left a shadow of themselves. We've had loads ourselves. Garcia, Fernando come to mind and I'm sure there's more.

So far I've watched Fabinho and Jorginho(I know, pre-season etc) and both have looked shockingly off pace. Now this may be pre-season, but it's pretty commonplace that these players struggle to adapt to the pace/tempo.

He's one of them.

The other thing is people fail to realise that in great teams, average players can look great because everyone occupies the opposition.

Look at Stephen Ireland. Teams were so focused on Robinho and Elano that Ireland looked world class.

I said this of Mhktayrian when he signed for the rags, he was a cog in a machine and made look very good.

I would say Bakayoko was surrounded by special players and as a result he's had more time and space than afforded at Chelsea.

I don't remember him being that good for Monaco against us.
I do remember a Monaco fan saying he wasn't that good and Fabinho was far better.
I also remember him being pretty poor every time I saw him last season.
I guess he may develop as a player, he is still young but if our scouts haven't seen anything in him I would not disagree with them.

Ok tin hat at the ready for this one but I think that we should seriously consider this guy as an option? Get him in on a season long loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. I still rate him and he is still very young enough to come good under the Pep's guidance. Chelsea like many other players have destroyed him. If we don't get him someone else will and turn him back into the player he was at Monaco.
You’ll catch a few with that Mike.
