I was looking at it and seeing that they are 58 behind Sunak total. There are 59 Badenoch votes, 1 spoilt, and 1 non-voter - a total of one more than needed to overtake him.

Although I can see them thinking about it, I think they both would prefer to be against Sunak than each other in the members vote.

Can see more of Badenoch's votes going to Truss than Mordaunt leading to a Sunak v Truss play off final. Next PM will be Truss. God help us.

Yep, think that’s been on the cards for a while.

The only thing that’ll change it is if those supporting Sunak realise he’s got very little chance of winning against either of them and so decide to switch and back Mordaunt to at least make it not a coronation for Truss.

Just looking at the numbers, think a fair few for Truss today might switch to Mordaunt too. Can’t believe Tughendhat supporters would go from him to Truss aside from just to make sure Badenoch was eliminated.

Truss is so awful that most MPs must be able to see it, even if she's got a fair bit of support in the membership from those that believe in the 4th rate Thatcher tribute act.

Depends on the underlying motivations of some too, I think some would be happy for Truss to go in, cause the carnage they want and then go into opposition for a term or two, the damage already being done.

what is so awful about Truss ? genuine question, i've not seen much of her
