26 years ago we signed big Andy.
He dragged us kicking and screaming out of Division 2.
We’re not in the same dire situation we were in then but it’s clear we need a ‘leader’ like big Andy to get a grip of the team, get the players to get their shoulders back and start fighting for every ball, running like they’ve never run before.
With the injuries we’ve got I don’t think we’ve currently got a player to do it, Rodri has it in him, Ruben to a lesser extent. Fernandinho has done it previously, obviously Vincent for many a year and we had other leaders from within, Zaba bled blood for us, Sergio would fight, fight and fight some more. Tevez, a little warrior. We won’t ever get another Doylie but there must still be fighters out there to bring the fight and bite back into the team.
So who could be our Andy Morrison, leader, warrior, fighter? I look at our squad and I’m not sure we have the type of character required to do it. Is there a player we could bring in to do that role?

Was thinking this myself, and also wondering whether Boxing Day will turn out to be the 'Stoke' game. We were dire and losing at half time. The crowd just got behind them and turned it round second half which kick started the season. We need to get behind them more than ever now. On big Andy, a work colleague asked me if I knew of him as a player as he lives next door to him in Northwich. Of course went on to recall the wonder goal at Boundary Park just after he joined.

Yer can't get better leaders than Gundog 'n Dias. There's enough leadership on the field but it's the tiniest margins that are not clicking and no manager nor player can change the decision once it's made. I saw the brief highlights (which might be better titled 'grief highlights') and Phil has finally recalibrated his radar. Josko needs to work on his - 'nother wayward 'eader! It'll come, but we need to tweek the slow sideways cha-cha-cha style against which any team from Hough End can defend! Bit 'o place lads. That's pace on the ball and save Kev's 'n Gundog's legs. Bit 'o Argentinian tangoing!
