They can more or match them and they do. However they can't all finish 1st in their league can they?!

Beyond that, confidence has a big impact. Teams who win every week begin to believe they will win, while those who finish midtable (however good they are in world terms), do not have that belief.

Why is the money wasted so bad? The Championship should be way stronger than the Dutch league too for example.

If they somehow managed to play a league season of matches against each other, I'm pretty sure the Championship teams would more than hold their own.

However, the top 3 or 4 Dutch teams would finish clear.

There are still a lot of owners who are not serious business men when it comes to football. It's either a vanity project, without the required funds or its the head of some faceless fund or company group who know fa.
We are so lucky that Mansour, 1 had the money and 2 he didn't have the ego that other owners do. He was happy to get football people and let them do their thing with his support, whilst he got on with maximising his investment using the goodwill our success brings.

So if we have 15 teams all ''doing a Napoli'', only one of them can be top and one of them will be 15th.
And this is the reason that sooner or later the Yank owners are going to push for ending relegation.
The fact remains if all 20 clubs all spent a billion pounds in the summer transfer window, all buying worldy players, that 3 teams will still end up in the bottom 3 and be relegated. It doesnt matter how much clubs spend. 3 have to be bottom.

I’m not sure that English teams are worse than those of other countries.
Both the rags and Wham have won euro trophies recently and Wham were almost struggling against relegation.
The European champions, some small club in the north, play outstanding football to compete with anyone in the world. More English clubs have won the European cup/ champions league than those of any other country.

Real Madrid , on their own, have won Champions League / European Cup as many times as every English put together

That will obviously change as City will dominate for years to come and they will drag the rest of the also rans along with them
