Why can't we start games like we end them?

Didn't mind those tactics for Chelsea away, but Sunderland away is a completely different kettle of fish. Mancini's a good man and a good manager, but he needs to be more adventurous against lesser teams. Still, a point away from home is a decent result, so it's onwards and upwards (hopefully).

It's the managers basic mentality to send his team out with a cautious almost defensive approach. We have to accept that and just hope we don't concede that first goal.

It was clear that we needed to give Sunderland problems from the 'off' today , and not with merely with just 45 minutes to go ..... but we didn't , and they basically ran the first half at will ..... who do you blame for that ?

Got to be the manager , isn't it ?

Starting games cautiously is fine unless you concede the first goal. It can then be difficult to start chasing the game or being positive with a negative set up.
