Why do I only have 2GB left?

I have 31GB on the C drive on the laptop I use yet only have 2GB left, The only thing of any size I have downloaded is FM2011. I have 5GB of music as well but can't find where the other stuff is.
Any help?

I'm guessing that's also the drive your operating system is installed on. What OS are you using? Windows 7 and Vista both use 15gb just to run!

31gb laptop must be old mate? But as the previous poster says vista or windows 7 will take half ov that up. I would format my computer and go for the old xp takes a little less or if u can afford it a new laptop :)

Well Win7/Vista have an "restore" funcion called ShadowStorage, its turned on by default.

Win 7 Installation uses at start up to 19 GB (Ultimate) and after that the Storage is going to raise and you need to turn it off.

Use Google and search for: "How to resize Shadowstorage"

Well you cant turn it off, but you cant limit it at 900 MB (lowest).

just do this if you dont want to use Google,

run - type cmd.exe - run as admin.

type:

vssadmin help

vssadmin resize shadowstorage /For=C: /On=C: /Size=900MB.

Well, thats only you checked the logical point.

Download CCleaner to clear all the crap off your system.
Download Defraggler to defrag your drive (much better than windows!)

Already got them! Ran them and it's took enough room off for now. Cheers everyone
