Why do not we sign a defender?

There's nothing wrong with our CB's or goalie mate. They're world class, absolutely the best in the business. The top teams in Europe wish they had our embarrassment of riches at the back. I don't think City should be faulted for bending over forwards to accomodate sentimentality and the fog of potential, even if it is costing us points and has made UEFA next year a long shot. This is City! Winning isn't really important to us: delightful eccentricity, idiosyncratic spectacle and the never-ending excuse is where it's at!
 
Because Kompany moves to CB and it looks like this

RB - Richards (cover - Zab , whop can play in DM)

CB - Kompany (cover Ned, Dunne)

CB Ned (cover Dunne)

LB - Bridge (cover Garrido)

DM - De Jong

and when we play away, tough teams, we can move kompany alongside De Jong and really tighten things up.

Could do with a CB agreed but not 100% neccessary now.
 
Are you joking? did you see him against Schalke and for his country.
He is by far the best CB we have at the club, Hughes has only played him there once or twice because we didn't have another DM. Now we do - De Jong (refer to my original email)
