Why do our ballboys take ages to actually get the ball?

You are absolutely spot on at least as far as the Soton game goes. I don't necessarily notice regularly, but it was absolutely terrible this weekend. It's like no one was down in the corner or something.. I couldn't believe how many times where I asked where is the damn multi-ball?!
 
The premier league banned multi ball after Moyes used it for the first part of a match against United, and then packed all of the extra balls away when Everton went 1-0 up.

Lots of other examples of the home team getting the ball thrown in a lot quicker than the away team.

Shsme because it made for a much better spectacle.
 
we should use the peter barnes football trainer and have the ball on a string

I remember Bayern under Pep in a match where they had the ball retrieval at a ridiculously quick level, think it was against Atletico. As soon as the ball was out of play there was one back in, it was clearly tactical to the point of commentators mentioning it. Throw ins were immediate & the pressure it put on Atletico was immense, no let up in play.

Sadly that was CL where I guess multi-ball is allowed & reading this thread I guess that's not the case in PL; it's a shame too as that was an incredible performance from Bayern helped by that tactic they employed, even if they did still somehow get knocked out.
 
Sounds dirty but they should be trained to get the ball to us in 5 seconds and the opponent in 30.

my brother played for Everton when he was a kid and every week they'd have different academy lads as ball boys, our kid got selected when Everton played us. Said he went at different speeds depending on the situation. if city were winning he'd go really slow and if Everton were winning hed speed it up. He was never asked again.

Can't remember the score but think it was around the time fowler played for us
