Why? It's fucking shit. Yet most of you who watch it are actually being laughed at.
The main demographic of viewers are poor, uneducated, or live on a council estate, or are fucking stupid. Sometimes all. And what is the show about? Taking the fucking piss out of people who are poor, uneducated, live on a council estate or are fucking stupid. Yet you all lap it up like soylent green.
I'm also poor, live on a council estate and have suffered at the hands of a wank education system and discrimination against the poorer sections of society. So it pisses me off even more that i'm surrounded by people eager to take entertainment from their own social and cultural humilation.
If you watch this show then you are either a pratonising vulture, an idiot or a fucking twat.
It works in a similar way to them 'Phones 4 U' adverts in that it acts as a metaphore for what the rich and the powerfull have been doing for centuries; mocking the poor for their own entertainment whilst simultaneously keeping them 'in their place'. The phones4u adverts contain one, rich, flashy, articulate, confident and successfull characther as the man in the know. His position of power and knowledge is also associated with the status the things he owns bring. This is heightened further by a backdrop of ugly mongs with little social skills, of seemingly low intellegence and a dress sense that wouldn't look out of place in a 1980's Kosovoan charity shop. Each one of them in awe of the man and his things. Acting in the same way as the Jeremy Kyle programme.
Jeremy Kyle; with a backdrop of mongs. Only, they aren't the mongs you see on the phones4u adverts...they are actual people. But they are portrayed, viewed and moulded in exactly the same way as are the characters in the phones4u adverts.
It's because of programmes like Jeremy Kyle that adverts such as phones4u exist. It's because of things like this that Little Britain was as succesfull as it first was. And that Katherine Tate can make thousands from some annoying fucking impression of a scally school girl from London. It's because most of the people being laughed at want to be entertained, can't afford entertainment away from the home and can't see they are being lied too [or don't want to know they are being lied too] that the rich, the 'richer than the poor' and the powerfull are still able to use us, the poor, like fucking clowns for their own entertainment and social and cultural gain.
