Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

I can't say as I don't go to away games, but from what I have been reading on... sometimes our fans are even fighting/argueing among each other.

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

It's not as bad as some make out. I think people dont sing so they can then come on here and moan about it. People sometimes need to remember your the fans that are there no one else so it's only there fault were not as loud as some expect

It isnt shite, numbers are down on previous years but as away fans we still have a good away following, although price increases have had an effect on numbers in the last year or two.

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

Our expectations of city are now a lot higher than they used to be, and now we let the team know when they are playing crap. In previous years, we were crap and just happy for a piss-up.

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

On sunday dont think the 1st half helped as we were shite
2nd half the atmosphere was better
Also i think its starting to sink into fans that we really can get 4th and every game is a must win and that makes us nervous because we know how much is at stake

Just my opinion tho

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

unfortunatly some of us get to pissed before the game and spend most of our time trying to support our legs nevermind the team.

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

The sort of people who go to every game religiously often tend to be insufferable nobheads. All clubs have numpties amongst their supports, in our case the sort of undereducated goons who go round singing Munich songs. An absolute embarrassment. I love going away from home, but days are often spoilt by muppets who proclaim to support our great club. In my opinion, following a club means respecting its name.

I know excatly how you feel

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

We do have more dickheads following us away than ever it seems to me. Last season at Stoke fellow City fans threatened to kick the shit out of me (even though I had my elderly Father with me) as they assumed I was a Stokie due to my Midlands accent.

The vast majority though are still a good bunch.

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

From a personal point of view the decent away coaches from around here have disbanded so little pockets of us have to try and find other ways of travel. Away games haven't been the same for a good few years. More expensive, less fun and more difficult organisation these days. Tryin to get something sorted for next year though.

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

I think its down to a number of things which i cant be arsed to go into as this has been talked about on loads of threads now. The team will always find an extra 10% if they can hear that we are right behind them, regarless of what the score is or whats at stake, I want to be amoung fans of old when it was about going with your best mates, having an awesome day and cheering on the blues, and if we lose then we lose, just make sure they know we are behind them regardless. Not loving the new brand of fans we have following us now, constantly bickering and having digs at the players while sat on there arses eating sandwiches.

lets get back to this

is that fanbase lost in our history now?

I think this is the single most important difference since moving to CoMS. I didn't have the same feeling in '68 - always thought we would put together a decent game and anyone who beat us would have played well. This season, particularly, the feeling of needing the three points is a little overwhelming, and even when we get a classic point-sealing goal in the last minute, doesn't really help relieve the notion that we have failed again with a draw. The matches have taken on a tension that I haven't know since supporting City.

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

It does not matter if your at the match or in a club etc with a load off lads. You are always going to get bellends. That is life. I dont think are away support is "Shite". I think it is a case now of more people being priced out of the game. Stupid prices for certain games, Spurs is the prime example. I am in the fortunate position to be able to afford any away game I am able to go but for a lot of fans that is not the case. The only way it will improve is
1. Trophies or 2. "The powers that be" review the prices for away fans, Might sound radical but one price for away fans irrespective of what ground you are at

Re: Why is our away Support "Shite" ?

Our away support is no worse than most other teams. I think when we were shit we just went to have a good time and a win was a bonus, now the expectations have increased and if we don't finish fourth the sky will fall in. We as fans are expecting more from the team.
I haven't been to as many away games as I would have liked this season due to lack of funds. I know plenty of other people in the same boat and this has had an impact on some attendances. Sunderland away for example was not one that I was willing to fork out cash for when there are bigger(better) games coming up. It's alright saying it was only £27 a ticket but as you all know going away you need a lot more than that to get there and have a few beers etc.
