Sold out yet there are huge numbers of empty seats. I presume viagogo are getting a set amount of tickets of every game which are not being sold.

Maybe, and this is a stab in the dark, the 'owners' of those empty seats were making use of the excellent bar facilities and tv's in the nice dry concourse instead of getting pissed on in their seats. I know i would've.
Can't some people go without a fuckin lager (watered down piss) for 90 minutes for fuck sake.
Anyway, why does anyone give a fuck, still 40 odd thousand there.

Who were City playing. ? Sunderland , not exactly a marquee game is it, unlike Stoke at Home to UTD, or Spurs V Chelsea, both big games for the home team.
I didn't think the crowd were that quiet, they were quite vociferous in their annoyance at the ref!
As for keeping out of the rain and having a pint, old habits die hard as City fan! You need a pint or two sometimes to steady the nerves, especially as we wet from 2-0 to 2-2 in very short time!!!

I'm not having that because if that's the case why at most other grounds do you not see as many empty seats. I reckon it's to do with city giving tickets to companies who then don't sell the tickets.

Not sure if it has been suggested before but a simple soluti

to improve atmosphere.
For certain parts of the ground sell tickets for a particular part of the ground. i.e south stand level 1. rather than a specific seat. There is then a lot more chance of a lot of noisy groups being able to turn up and sit together. those that want to sit quiet can go and sit further away from the rowdy area
those who then want to have a sing song will lean towards buying a ticket for the noisiest area of the ground which will establish itself over a season or two. In fact getting a ticket in that area may become quite sought after and may expand to the next level or side of the ground.
will be just like the old days.

The away fans should be a non-entity... an irritating presence far up in the gods in a corner of level 3 and that's it. Not in our face, able to support their team so close to the pitch and separating the two areas that are supposedly our singing sections. As a home team, you really want to exploit every little advantage you can... like the way they aren't giving the away team heated seats. They should also not give away teams the encouragement of 1-3,000 diehard fans in the South Stand because yes, fans can make a difference and players always say they can get a little bit extra from them. At least they will be narrowing the away area over 3 tiers in the expansion, but would still prefer them to just be out of the way.

Excellent post and when the f@@k will the club get onto this ???[
put them up in the gods...put them in the car park.....won't make any difference...the current lot in the south&east stand will follow them

Good post above, this may get some backs up but have a look around and think what it used to be like. You look around now and you see more Kids, Women, and Tourist's (I am in the south stand) those are not the most likely groups who will get the crowd going. Yes some of them do but if your after what it used to be like it aint ever going to happen. Throw into the mix all the other things people have already mentioned and that is why we are quiet. Its not down to one part but a make up of all the other things put together.
I am not having a go just putting why I think it is like it is.

Once again a quick reminder bring a scarf tomorrow. Sheff wed are bringing 5,400 the least we can do is whip out the scarves for 3 or 4 choruses of Blue Moon tomorrow. Let's create a visual response to the noisy away end. Will be changes to the team & they'll want to avenge the league cup game so remember it's all about getting through no matter what the score is. We will have a presence in 110 and 111.

I would like to ask someone from within the club what benefits the partnership with Viagogo has brought as to my mind it's the one mistake that has been made since the takeover.

Felt like a leper in Colin bell today.

Trying to strike up singing and it felt like a lost battle. Felt like you couldn't say anything without being given looks. We scored the winner joined in the "fight to the end" chant and the people around me were too busy playing with their phones.
