I think I've finally figured it out. It's cause he's been having to defend world class mofos in training, that's why. ;)

Weak link but the lad's not half as bad as he's made out to be.

He isn't a weak link and isnt made out to be bad because he has been playing great for ages?? What games have you been watching or do you only read the occasional negative comment?

he is fookin shit hot, we should be creaming ourselves about him

I reckon he will bag double figures all comps this year

Better coaching.
Better defensive system to work in.
Everyone mucking in to help cover each others deficiencies.
More authoritative attacking system, meaning less pressure on the defence.

Needs to change his name by deed poll to Lescio or Lescovic and he'd be considered one of the league's top defenders based on last 8 or so months worth of performance. He's playing well beyond himself considering he isn't that great with the ball at his feet, doing a fine job and fully deserves a place in our team.

Improved at the end of last season but seems to have taken 2 steps back this season. Cost us 2 goals last match. Needs to get back how he was last season or he'll find himself on the bench.

You're wasted on here, you should be on the krypton factor

How can you say he cost us two goals against Bolton?

The first was down to Micah giving Petrov too much time and room to get his cross in and the second was simply a great piece of centre-forward play by Davies.

I watched those goals so many times making the Bolton-Dzeko match compilation and I am very intrigued. What do you think he could have done about the first goal? I'll answer it for you, nothing.

Second goal, he shouldn't be getting beat in the air by Davies, but that delivery was so perfect that he can't be blamed /much/.

In your opinion, has Kompany made 2 steps back because if I recall correctly, his mistake led to the freekick that led to the goal.

My guess is that Joleon feels a lot more secure and confident about his standing at City now. Being such a big money buy (for a centre-back) yet not being a regular first teamer probably screwed with his head and he must have felt under a lot of pressure to impress whenever he was selected. Every time he recieved the ball he worked through every option available to him, figuring out the one that would please Bobby and not get him dropped. This meant that he often took far too many touches - giving the impression of dallying - instead of booting it into row Z or playing a simple lay-off.
Knowing that Kolo wasnt available for quite some time - regardless how Lescott played - gave the lad his confidence back and he no longer felt the necessity to impress so much. As a result he started doing the simple things first and foremost.
Some BMers over the summer were advocating that we signed a top keeper to keep Joe 'on his toes'.
Whereas I believe you shouldnt have such fierce competition for your keeper and centre-back roles. They need to feel confident that they can make a mistake and still retain the shirt the following week.
