Why would you put salt on a banana?

Can't beat a bit of fried banana to go with your meat, rice and beans. Very common in Ecuador/Colombia.

Bananas are very starchy and as such for whatever reason the salt improves the taste. Potatoes can take a lot of salt as does porridge. A bluemoon top tip...if you over salt or spill it into a stew or soup simply drop a few spuds in until cooked. The potatoes absorb the salt and can then be roasted separately.
