Surely, with the game already comfortably won, it would have been better to protect NdJ for the derby, rather than risk another yellow card, especially in such atrocious conditions?

Well because of the bad weather Burnley seemed to get a new lease of life especially in midfield, Nigel knows the midfield grittiness more than Garrido. Garrido isn't to bad as a left sided midfielder, but not as a central midfielder "stopper of play" type role.
