Personally I think the FA has fucked up. She's done great things with the England team but has now peaked.

Personally I think the FA has fucked up. She's done great things with the England team but has now peaked.

I think that's a bit harsh. I do think there is a danger of this england team stagnating a little unless some younger players come through who are up to standard but I don't think Sarina's necessarily peaked, and even if she had, i've no idea who you'd bring in to replace her. For the time being we have a manager who has won the Euros with us at first time of asking and taken us to a world cup final where we were beaten by a very very good Spanish team. The WC was a bit of a slog at times but the standard is improving and there were a lot of elite sides who laboured against teams who they'd have been expected to batter in the past. We showed a huge amount of character in knocking out Australia in the semis. Throw in the injuries we've been dealing with over the past 12 months and I think she more than deserves to be cut a bit of slack. Players and the fans clearly love her too. She definitely deserves the chance to take us into the next euros and I think we're lucky to have her.

I worry about that too tbh. That England side burned so brightly at the Euros and despite having some youngish players, it does feel sometimes like that that might have been their moment. It's a big risk to stay on really, but I'm glad she's doing it.
