There we were, now here we are
Is it correct that individuals can easily change information on wikipedia?

Just found this:

'Umbro will once again be announced as the new kit manufacture for Manchester City for the 2009/2010 season sometime in spring 2009'.

<a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umbro" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umbro</a>

Controversial hello.

I know I've fished a very old topic up, but I don't have enough posts to create a new topic.

I don't know why it bothered me, but one sentence on City's page on Wikipedia grated me in particular...

"During the summer of 2009, the club took transfer spending to an unprecedented level, with an outlay of over £100 million on players"

I know at the time for us that was a lot of money. However it was not "unprecedented" as Real Madrid managed to just about scrimp together enough money to sign Kaka, C Ronaldo, Benzema and Raul Albiol for a measly sum of about £150m in the very same transfer window (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.footbo.com/Teams/Real_Madrid/Transfers" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.footbo.com/Teams/Real_Madrid/Transfers</a>).

I understand that others may find that my annoyance is "unprecedented", but if anyone has the resources to edit wikipedia, I would be grateful if such nonsense was removed from our pages. I know we've come from nothing in such a short space of time, but that does not give outsiders an excuse to start sneaking in clandestine remarks upon our history without carrying out very basic research. We already have a very distorted enough perception of our club, and the fans.
