Wilfried Zaha

Bear in mind we have only one foreign spot left in the team in UCL. We are signing 2 players this January .. one is Inigo Martinez because he can play CB and LB too. So when it comes to the forward player .. either someone leaves or hes homegown and will be last choice forward!

Missed that brief, when did the club announce that?

No where near good enough, has a few good games for Palace and his agent is trying to raise his profile by linking him with bigger clubs.

I'm hoping Arsenal go in for him this month. For obvious reasons.

Sinclair analogy doesn't apply.
1) Pep. Pep is not Bobby, he doesn't have players forced on him by a DoF who he practically hates as a person, he has different rotation policy, different system, and a remarkable coaching team with himself and coaches included. If Pep does sign him, it will be because he sees a potential squad player in him, has the will to play him, and most likely an idea of what coaching is needed from the club to adapt and improve areas of his game.

2) As would be expected Zaha has made improvements from season to season, but also across both his spells at Palace he has shown the same skill-set that makes him a promising target, and has shown his attributes for a longer period of time than Sinclair ever had before we signed him (Or since fwiw).

3) They are very different players. All they have in common is that they are English and play on the wing.

4) The step-up in the quality around him will be much higher than it was for Sinclair. Firstly in the higher quality of our current squad than under Mancini (with all respect to his legend), and secondly in the lower quality of the Crystal Palace side now than the Swans side of that season.

Zaha would count as a home grown player so don't have to worry about foreign spots. There is also room for a couple foreign signings if needed as St Pauli points out.
