Will ADUG downgrade their commitment to us?

i hate to say this but if they did pull out how would that affect their status .40.000 city fans wont worry them and nobody else gives a shit
Worrying times indeed

Face saving. It would make our owners (and by implication the whole Abu Dhabi royal family) appear to everyone as such fools in the eyes of the whole arab world. I feel that City represent much more than just a football club to them, we are an entry ticket to a whole world of sporting success and global acclamation. In that respect I dont believe they will allow City to fail. They will do whatever is necessary to ensure the enterprise succeeds, whether that means firing the manager, Cook, the players or all of them it will be done. Keep the faith.

I have no problem keeping faith in the owners and I think they are honourable poeple but I have no faith in that usless fuckwit Hughes

I have a real concern the owners may give Hughes too much time and the damage will be severe !

a) This franchise cannot be successfully relocated to real estate around London. The large amount of work required to even begin considering development of CoMs and or adjacent vacant land.

You are implying that they invested vast sums of money without the right knowledge However, it is clear that they know what they are doing

b) The huge amount of hype swamping the gravy train league has possibly clouded the advice of their advisors on the manager's position.

No

c) The realisation that formulating a strict 10 year plan of progress, can be easily derailed by a set of players not performing to the standard desired by anyone associated with the club, except the players themselves of course.

A long term plan must be adjust as required

d) There is no way that an investment of Abramovich proportions will ever make a sensible return. Already the purchase price of the club and the signing of Robinho have raised the world profile of Abu Dhabi significantly

Only success will be acceptable, in their terms their investment in City is small and they are not looking for a monetary return

Whatever their political and economic objectives are, i don't see how a reduced commitment would make them appear to be anything less than fools. I don't think the long term plan is affected.

The short term one is, obviously, by a squad that has not got enough quality to meet their short term aims, and one that is lead by a manager not appointed by them.

The changeover of club ownership so late in the pre-season didn't help the obvious repair work needed. Unfortunately for ADUG, time cannot be bought, and neither can the delicate development of a football team.

In January we may very well see just how ruthless these people are. And unfortunately how football naieve.

ADUG through their excutives at City will know for certain the background, and I think Hughes will be given the time and the resources to bring in his players, and move on others.

Our League position makes it awkward, but not impossible to strengthen the team. I hope Hughes gets to bring in the players he identifies, rather than Stars. I've loved watching a fit Robinho, but I think we'd have been better off plugging holes elsewhere
