Will the FA impose restrictions on our spending?

as much as they'd like to,they cant as it would essentially be prohibiting capital investment in a privately owned company. This would go to the courts and lose every time.

Also the Sheik would funnel all sponsorships directly into the transfer kitty.

There's too many ways around it.

Funny how its Barca and Real madrid who are throwing around the money yet we seem to be the culprits..

No not possible.
1) No legislation exists to limit spending/investment into a private company.. As UEFA will find out!
2) We are good for the transfer market!
3) What would be the objective in restricting our expenditure?

Dont think UEFA will even try to put anything in place because real madrid and barcelona have too much power. it really gets my back up when we 'ruin' football by paying over the odds for players.....who business is it if we decide to pay 24mill for a defender? ours and the selling clubs thats all......if other teams have players we want we will pay over the top for them as well...World domonation is comming its just a matter of when...........

Absolutely no way it could happen. Why the fuck is it us that's ruining football. The rags payed over the top for players years ago, and that was just team building and buying the best young talent available. When City of Chelsea do it we're buying trophies and ruining football. I know this argument has been made before, but I'm getting pissed off hearing everyone slating us.

Therefore, I hope we spend £250m in the transfer window, win the EPL, the FA Cup and the Europa League. I would be more than happy with the 'Man City 2010/1011 - EPL Winners, FA Cup Winners, Europa League Winners.....oh, and by the way we BOUGHT every fucking one of them....so fuck off'

This

What we are doing is no worse that that lot across the road did between 89 & 91....Bruce, Pallister, Ince, Phelan, Schmeichel, Parker all bought for mega money when other clubs, of which we were one, had little or no money to spend.

The times have changed, as has the value of the £ and of a Player, but the principle is the same....buy the best players you can to make your squad as strong as you can to challenge for honours.

UEFA aren't proposing that they prevent investment in private companies. ADUG can invest £500m in City if they so wish, and UEFA won't stand in their way. What UEFA are proposing is that they will prevent anyone who "lives beyond their means" from entering European competition, and they are fully within their rights to do so. UEFA run the Europa League and the Champion's League and they can set whatever entry criteria they deem fit.

That's a bit harsh, don't you think?...

...they don't mind Chelsea so much these days...

No, they really are proposing to prevent investment in private companies. They're trying to prevent living outside your own means by preventing clubs from so much as experiencing outside funding, meaning that they will never have the chance to get reliant on money that isn't club revenue. The UEFA guidelines they want to implement will ban "investment in private companies" to the tune of over £10m just as much as it will prevent any other sort "investment". However some reports say they are leaving loopholes such as the ability to inject money into clubs in the form of creating new shares, which is what ADUG have been doing to us.

I was just trying to cover all the angles, you know, when something goes belly up etc. I would love it if,just for once, everything went right for us on the pitch,ie deflections, own goals, ref decisions etc, like it seems everything is ok off the pitch. I mean,i have waited a long time

UEFA are trying to cement the old order of football.

Teams with the biggest stadiums and sponsorships will then have the biggest revenues, guaranteeing the greatest amount of salary/transfer expenditure. How is that better than what they claim is ruining the game now?

Seems stupid and anti-competitive, though I don't fully understand the rule. Does this exclude transfer fees?
