Will we lodge an official complaint against Huth?

Apologies if this has already got a topic, but I'm wondering is there time to even lodge a complaint for his frankly vicious elbow against Mario? No foul was given and it appears neither the referee or an assistant saw it.

I wouldn't bother. It'll only make us seem small-time, whining about Huth's elbow after we've won. If the FA want to act, that's up to them. And don't forget; one of Yaya's tackles was none too pretty on the eye.

Huth should have seen red for his elbow on Balotelli, but FOUR officials missed it

Fourth official Lee Probert could have assisted referee Martin Atkinson on Saturday at Wembley but he, like the other three match officials, missed Robert Huth striking Mario Balotelli after just 15 minutes of the FA Cup final.

Law allows for the fourth official to assist the referee in any onfield matters and it was a pity that both Probert and the active assistant, Adam Watts, missed the off-the-ball offence.

It appeared a violent and deliberate attack from an aggressive player and should have resulted in a red card for the Stoke central defender.

Whether the Football Association will act over the issue is anyone’s guess.

It follows a week when a dreadful tackle like Charlie Adam’s on Gareth Bale went unpunished while Sir Alex Ferguson was charged for praising Howard Webb before a game. What IS going on?

Probert will be keeping his eyes on Huth and Balotelli tomorrow night, when he takes charge of the Cup final ‘rematch’ between the clubs.

by Graham Poll? the ex referee who got everything right (apart from confusing 2 and 3 yellow cards)? Let's be gracious in victory unlike our so-called neighbours. Besides I seem to remember one their players, a Mr Shrek, carrying out one of the most vicious forearm smashes I've seen in years and getting only a hug from the referee - the beyond reproach Clattenburg.

There is no citing procedure in football like there is in Rugby Union, as far as I know.

I believe the FA looks at it if it thinks there might anything controversial and decides if action should be taken.

We can hardly bring too much attention to the Huth incident when Yaya Toure was probably fortunate to stay on after his tackle on that Stoke lad ...... fortunately for him the Stoke lad didn't make too much of it , but it did look a bad challenge.

Best to just put it down to one unsavoury incident apiece , and move on!

I didn't think the Yaya challenge looked deliberate, but that might be my bias. Mostly I was curious as to procedure. Does the team need to file a complaint or does the FA decide whether or not to look into it? Looks as if it's the FA that decides, which I think is better as it should prevent too much lobbying.

Balotelli forgot about it and got on with the game, we won, the end. If he tries the same thing again on Tuesday however..

Hopefully players are realising winding Mario up is no longer a valid tactic. If anything it just encourages him to be more aggressive, which no defence wants.
