Apparently our top target to replace Pants who is expected to leave ... Why are we not going for a young homegrown no.2 ....

He is in his early thirties, the prime time for a goalkeeper, so why would he leave to be on our bench?

He's just as good as Joe Hart, IMO, and was nominated with Courtois and Valdes as best keeper in La Liga for 2012/13. Should be in Argentina's squad, but Messi allegedly doesn't like him and what Messi wants, Messi gets.

If he'd be willing to sit on the bench, we'd have an awesome cup keeper. But a homegrown keeper might be more practical.
