Wimbledon 2022

Has she got dual citizenship? Born in Russia but lives in Kazakhstan.
She was born and grew up in Moscow but changed her citizenship to Kazakhstan in 2018. She’s played in the Olympics and the BJK Cup representing Kazakhstan.

I noticed Sue mentioned thanking the President of the Khazakhstan Tennis Federation for being there to support her. Not heard anything like that before.

I wasn’t bothered who won really but she has given her allegiance to Khazakhstan a few years ago so I didn’t consider her Russian.

I wish she’d shown more emotion upon winning but everyone is different and she will probably show it more to her nearest and dearest.

It would have been lovely for ONS to win as first Tunisian woman to win a Grand Slam.
