Pre-t`internet days this was where I got my transfer gossip from also. They used to make up some right shite with the hope that people would ring the premium number to listen to the transfer news. Someone somewhere made a lot of Pat Cash out of the idea.

This is going to sound a bit rotten but when I was about 18 I used to go round to this lads flat (he was a bit slow as we used to say back then) and ring clubcall every day. Did it for months until the bill came in,it ran to thousands and this poor lad had his phone cut off and was taken to court! I still feel a bit bad about that sometimes but I really needed to know if Murtaz Sheila was coming or not!
