Did you all know that since last April if you get married abroad you cannot bring your spouse back into the UK unless you earn over £18500 a year regardless of their financial position?

Only if they are not a British or EEA citizen


BTW It's now £18,600 or you have savings of £62,500

Interestingly that's getting challenged in court now, ruling I believe is due any day now.

Can't restrict people's rights to marry freely by grounds of financial circumstance, that's one law for the rich another for the poor plain and simple. I would think it would be fairly straightforward.

Well what the lay person understands as straight forward the judges tend to find extremely complicated.

Then again, why would judges who are earning over 60k a year want the paupers taking all the women?
