WLC QF Man Utd (A) 22/01/25

Watched the 1st half and last 10 of the 2nd.
Well done to the girls especially to Coombs who should have had 2 missing a sitter she created with a lovely bit of skill but notching early doors playing in a position she's not used to. Props to Lily (shes one of our own) Murphy for a great finish too. Nice to get one over on those Rag bastards after the weekend and that gloating prick Skinner.
Look a shadow of our 1st 11 though without Greenwood, Shaw, Hempo. Likely to get Chelsea or the Arse in the semis, probably the Arse as Chelsea always seem to pull the weakest side left in the semis of cups. LOL that might be us. That will be all she wrote in this competition were just not at the same level as either with so many 1st teamers missing.
Losing to Everton and then that shit united side by committing suicide has cost us the League again this year. You cannot afford to lose 3 games this early in the season and expect anything.
They won't be back for the CL game and even with them we'd be playing one of the big guns and we seem incapable of hitting the home Barca game highs, which is what we'd need in 2 games to progress.
Expect we might make the semis in the FA Cup too with decent draws but as soon as we face either of the London lot we'll have our arse handed to us again. By the time they are all back in and firing the horse will have bolted for another season.
Bit negative I know but I say it as I see it.

Arsenal away - what a surprise!

SF Draw

In our current state - them being the form team with Chelsea at the moment, no chance we win this unless there is some kind of miracle. Just hoping we don't get a mauling.

Okay, so how do we remedy a keeper just as good as Japan's Number One? Take her out of the side? I promise you, having watched Yamashita underhit short passes or wait last minute until the oppo is on her, you'll want the steadier Keating.

And I'm not saying Yamashita is bad, she's far from it, but she has put the defenders under pressure in the very recent past.

I agree. They both have weaknesses that can kill a game no matter how much ball the midfield and forwards muster. I think it's time to get Ellie back! And come to think of her, where's Sandy McIver. Has she gone out on loan, or returning from injury!

Sandy was sold to the Washington team in the NWSL. It was announced a day or two ago.

Totally agree, as good as Yama is, you can see the defenders are nervous when she has the ball at her feet. Despite her mistakes, I think they trust Keating much more. She's a fabulous shot stopper too.

Eventually Keating will need to eradicate these mistakes from her game. She can't use being young and unexperienced as a get out forever but she has plenty of credit in the bank for me. She was instrumental last season. Yeah she had a howler against Arsenal in the league but she also played a huge part in us taking 4 points off Chelsea. Losing to Brighton, profligacy in front of goal and United folding like a deckchair against Chelsea were what cost us the league last season, not Keating.
