Nightmare fixture first up for us.
Against a team that has our number and has become a jinx team.
That and a seemingly unprepared squad with Pep still in quarantine and a poor transfer window thus far.
Not expecting anything from this one.

OMG.Glad you don’t sit near me (hopefully)

nightmare fixture (for us or them?)
Jinx team
seemingly unprepared
Poor transfer window (thought we’d brought in a couple of good players compared with most clubs)

You’re a barrel of laughs

I don’t like the timing of this ... we play Monday night and before even a ball is kicked there’d be teams sitting on 6 points already (and one of those could be Liverpool with penalties a plenty) so psychologically you’re walking into a pressure away game which really becomes a must win ... albeit a game in hand but still they’d be looking at teams sitting 6 pts ahead so can’t afford to lose that first game and potentially hand them a 9pt head start by the time next game comes around (not literally that far behind I know with game in hand but I’m talking psychologically could play on their minds).

As for the rest, no one has any idea who would be fit or would play ... I guess we’d know better when Pep gives his pre match presser on Friday possibly ...

Since Wolves have been back in the premiership, we’ve only beat them once. That was at the etihad and they were reduced to 10 men early in the game.

A point at Molyneux would be a good result in my opinion..

Season not yet started for us, let's get the Gloom and doom going

considering the lack of training time for Laporte and Mahrez and Aquero's lack of fitness. My team for Wolves would be:
Eddie
Walker Ferno or Stone Aka Mendy
Kevin Rodrigo Bernado
Sterling Jesus Torres

Also read that Torres can play right midfield and has done several times and has good work rate.

Genuine gloom and doom does not come from nowhere. It's founded on doubts about our defence. When last season finished we all assumed that this Summer City would finally replace Kompany.

We made a good signing in Ake but he is a left sided defender. I think we will be stronger than last season because of Ake, and because Foden will replace Silva whose legs were going but have we done enough defensively?

I think most commentators who have us down as title favourites have done so on the assumption that we are going to strengthen further defensively. That's where I was last week but we didn't do the Koulibaly deal in advance of the return to training so that makes me wonder if we are going to do it at all.

Rather than shoot everybody down who comments somewhat negatively about the team, why don't you respond to the points about the need for a central defender?

Fern didn't work last season. Scary that we should be contemplating playing him this season.

One from Ake and Laporte, and one from Stones and Garcia for me.

Try reading the post I responded to before shooting your load, you might not make such stupid comments then

Assuming everybody is available

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Laporte
Mendy
Fernandinho
Bernardo
Kdb
Sterling
Mahrez
Aguero

New guys haven’t had enough time with Pep to learn the system, I expect they’ll be integrated slowly and start in cup games until they’re up to speed unless there’s no other option.

We will be playing catch up from the start with the scousers playing twice before we play, will be a lot of pressure against a tricky side for us we can’t afford to give Liverpool any breathing space whatsoever nothing but a win is acceptable.

Not convinced Liverpool are the main threat this season, can see them not sustaining their form for a third season

On paper I’d agree but most of us expected them to drop off last season too. Their mourinho-like football gets them results they shouldn’t get. If they have a bad period I can easily see them dropping off a cliff like we did last season but until that happens we can’t give them an inch

They are still a good team and need to be taken seriously. I do feel though that this season will see more than four teams legitimately able to claim the top four spots.
