They're likely to press us so be inclined to have a team full of those comfortable on the ball. I know they all are but in the sense of Stones over Dias, Lewis over Walker etc.

I'd love to see a 4-2-3-1 as well, allow Gundogan/Bernardo to sit with Kovacic and create a bit of a barrier rather than getting overrun.

Eddie

Lewis
Stones
Akanji
Gvardiol

Gundogan/Bernardo
Kovacic

Savinho
Foden
Grealish

Haaland

Although I wouldn't mind seeing Nunes starting on one of the wings positions. Think he's got the pace, workrate and ability to play it quite effectively. And having a good game against those booing him would be a good confidence booster!

I think that Chinese/Asian lad who scored the winner in this fixture last season is out for them, that’s good news because he normally turns up against us.

I remember Nunes playing in this game last year and he was absolutely shite, seemed affected by the crowd and was hooked at half time, so I wouldn’t risk that again.
Yep, he didn’t have the cojones to deal with that situation. It raised a real red flag as to whether he had the right character to succeed at City and nothing he’s done since has altered that.

These are fucking rubbish this season. Dead certs for the drop if literally any of the promoted teams get their act together. Stagnation has set in big time and the fans have turned against the players and staff. Bottom of the league in reality, 18th in the XG table, and 17th in the XG-conceded table.

So all signs point to a 2-1 Wolves win, of course.

Anyway, I'd go:

Ederson
Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol
Stones, Kovacic
Savinho, Bernardo, Foden, Grealish
Haaland
I don’t think they are rubbish. I think they’re just in a terrible run of form.

They finished 20 points above relegation last season. They’ve got a good fast and hardworking midfield who’s are dangerous the break (see their goal v Newcastle below, exactly the kind of goals we’ve been conceding this season), signed a decent striker and are no worse a side than, say, Forest:

At home to Newcastle that^ was their team, they also have Hwang who I rate and Guedes (although Kilman was a huge loss). They were the better side for 70 minutes in that game, played some decent stuff and should have gone 2-0 up on a few occasions. But their confidence is shot, Newcastle upped their game and they scored two great goals.

I’m still expecting a tough game against a team who’ll be desperate and who I think will be well clear of relegation come the end of the season. This is exactly the sort of game we’ve dropped points in under Pep over the years. But it has to be said their confidence and form is terrible at the moment.

I think we need to think on who we play in midfield, we need players who’ll be able to keep up with theirs.

Hopefully crush them and put on a decent winning run in our next 3-4 league games.
