If we can just concentrate on having the creative players on the ball with a “Carrefour-ward” mentality instead of sideways and backwards passes, we’d do better!

I don’t think they are rubbish. I think they’re just in a terrible run of form.

They finished 20 points above relegation last season. They’ve got a good fast and hardworking midfield who’s are dangerous the break (see their goal v Newcastle below, exactly the kind of goals we’ve been conceding this season), signed a decent striker and are no worse a side than, say, Forest:

At home to Newcastle that^ was their team, they also have Hwang who I rate and Guedes (although Kilman was a huge loss). They were the better side for 70 minutes in that game, played some decent stuff and should have gone 2-0 up on a few occasions. But their confidence is shot, Newcastle upped their game and they scored two great goals.

I’m still expecting a tough game against a team who’ll be desperate and who I think will be well clear of relegation come the end of the season. This is exactly the sort of game we’ve dropped points in under Pep over the years. But it has to be said their confidence and form is terrible at the moment.

I think we need to think on who we play in midfield, we need players who’ll be able to keep up with theirs.

Their games have been Liverpool arsenal chelsea Newcastle Brentford forest villa, not the easiest first 7 tbf

Unless I've missed something, we seem to have escaped an international break without injuries.
Shhhhhhh, you can't go against the trend. Of course JS has been injured it is predicted by all the nay sayers..... oh look no he didn't he even managed to play in both matches and wow he even Captained them in one of those games.

(Sorry for the sarcasm but it drives me mad that JB is always going to be the one that people think will be injured.) :-)

Yep, he didn’t have the cojones to deal with that situation. It raised a real red flag as to whether he had the right character to succeed at City and nothing he’s done since has altered that.
In fairness Sterling was always the same at Anfield and he was alright the rest of the time (granted Nunes has done nothing yet to suggest his performances will ever meet the level needed)

And then City.

That’s an incredibly tough run of games to start a season.

They must have a run of games against Bolton Stockport Wigan Salford and Oldham coming up after that start to the season.

We had fans moaning that we had Chelsea first game then the newly promoted Ipswich second because the newly promoted teams are always at their best early in the season.
