Wolves post match

Happy for Bravo,Congrats to Wolves (don't like em since the middle of 70's),lets forget this feckin nerve cracking game ,I think we will face the rugs in next round.....

Mangala was a complete liability. Yaya wasted his complete game coming short to collect the ball as Mangala is a clown of a defender and offers nothing bringing the ball out.

Zinchenko was equally rubbish. Even when not pretending to be a left back, his supposed core talent of being a winger is non existent. The great wingers (Sane) have pace and technique, average wingers have just one (Roberts/BeagrieTechnique, White Pace), Zinchenko incredibly has managed to forge a career on the back of having neither.

Yes he would stay wide but had no ability to beat his man and gave up trying. He became a hindrance eventually as every ball that went out to him was, after a series of slow pointless passes, fed back inside.

In short, we have been a fortunate to come through that unscathed, as playing with Zinchenko was like being anchored down and with Mangala was like being a man light.

Hope to see neither of those in a City shirt again.

P.S. Bravo you're forgiven.

you have to credit Wolves a bit for their organisation but we were sub-standard. Aguero-Jesus-Sterling-Gundogan-Bernardo-Yaya is still a formidable front line.

Mangala had a torrid 1st half but i think he settled better in the 2nd, but his positioning leaves a lot to be desired.

Pretty groansome stuff but moving on. Shame about the 12 in a row.

Worryingly, I suspect Wolves have just shown the PL clubs - or those outside the top 6 perhaps - how to play us.

No-one wants to get reamed 6-0, so park the bus big time and hold out for a 0-0 and you know what, you could even nick it with a break away goal.

I fear we are going to see much more of this. That said, we'll not play as shockingly as that in a long time.

i thought the same but really, if either Aguero scores that easy chance or perhaps one of the many shots that went down the keeper's throat is into the corner and the whole mentality of the opposition changes. I know they had breaks but our 1st choice back line is better.

No offence but have you actually been watching our games this season???

Everyone we have played other than Liverpool and Napoli tried to do what wolves did, they haven't shown anyone anything new.

Burnley, Stoke, Chelsea, Palace - they all did exactly the same as Wolves.

The difference is that with our usual backline, counterattacking fails, Fernandinho and Delph mop everything up and Stones+Otamendi are also vital to the very fast build up play which has seen us tear through those parked busses.

If teams try to emulate wolves then it'll be business as usual.

Much harder to do when you have Silva & De Bruyne to keep quite for 90 minutes though isn’t it.
We’ll be fine, this was just an off night that’s all.

Your opening line is the sort of stuff that I used to abhor coming from united fans

Would you really be bothered if the Caraboa cup didn't exist?

We literally had 9 men on the pitch in the last 15 minutes and were still dominating the game.
That said they had their moments on the break. Watching Zinchenko chase back reminded me of GazBaz but with lead boots on lol
Also glad the winning run of games is over as it takes the pressure off the players. Another winning run of 10 starting at West Brom will do very nicely thank you.
Literally?

Anyway, I thought Zinchenko did well until he tired, great pass completion rate (some in close triangles). No one was showing for passes into space on the left until Sane came on.

Of course, our A team is much more capable. And I do think we playing shovkingly, which we won't do every week. Hopefully not at all.
