Anyone else love listening? Some really good features recently, puppy farming was a real eye opener last week. Also the zika virus feature was ace!

I was reared on R4 in the West Cork backwaters from toddler to teenager. Mam wasn't a fan of the tube as a formative tool, so while most of ye pampered bastards were enjoying Neighbours, Knight Rider, Cagney and Lacey, McFuckinGYYVERRR etc I was sitting quietly listening to the Archers, PM, Just a Minute, Brain of Britain, Book at Bedtime et al !!

Just looked up the schedule and its almost exacly the same as it was 25 + years ago, brought back some grand memories ...
Always remember the nightmare scenario was when they'd cover the bloody Test Cricket and it would invariably over run and we'd miss 'I'm sorry I haven't a Clue' and The Archers cos we couldn't pick up the FM feed over in Eire, I recall many an evening spoiled waiting on some absurdly posh relic of Chariots of Fire era Britain, to cease yammering on about silly mid off and how splendid a stroke some young chap had hit.

Womans Hour I probably heard on occasion but aside from vague recollections of Jenni Murrays jolly but somewhat earnest timbre, it made no great impression on me.
I've not listened to 4 for nearly 20 years now, tho its somehow pleasing to know its all still there, like an anachronistic nostalgia woven comfort blanky, should I ever decide to tune back in.

I don't get to hear Woman's Hour very often, but enjoyed what I heard of today's Reith Lecture by Stephen Hawking discussing black holes, on my way to work. Stumble on some good stuff on 4 at times!

I do like some of the buffoonery humour on 4 from time to time, though I think you'll find it's been re-named "wimmins hour"
