This commentator is deluded. Keeps saying Reading deserve ‘something’ for their outstanding rear guard action. Should be about 8-0
Any team that parks the bus against City ARE ALWAYS praised by those commentators and pundits.

What is going on?
This must be the worst City Women’s display all season (even worse than in the early part of the season)
This can’t be the same club as the one who won against Chelsea a few days ago
AND
the manager must have gone to sleep or left the stadium. The only change has been Raso who was one of the best out tonight. Please tell me there is someone within management who knows something about football.
NOW on 70 mins we have a centre forward on .
AND
OUR LEFT FULLBACK SCORES,,
We will probably win this now but if we do it should not cover up our wilful display both on and off the field.
Is this a piss take ? 100 times better then the Spurs game , better finishing and a bit of luck and this could easily of been a double figure scoreline for City !

Don't know about "worst", it was one of the best of the season for me, just lacked finishing, it could easily have been 10-0 with better finishing/decision making up front.

Not a lover of the Continental Cup Winners ?
They deserved to beat Chelsea after turning the game around. It was a Final and they rose to the challenge. I expect so much more from them against a piss poor Reading side that offered nothing but blanket defence.
Thought Blakstad and Shaw were odd selections and wasted opportunities. Stanway cannot take a decent corner and where is Janine Beckie??
We just grind out results in the WSL and will struggle to finish third.
Strange to repost all my posts but there you go.

Tired old man moaning about a group of young successful girls in their 20’s.

Missed opportunity tonight in some respects, great as the 3 points are, but we had a chance to overtake the rags goal difference with better finishing, but at least we have given ourselves a chance of top 3 now, a fairly remarkable turn around from the end of November.

Difference of opinion on a Forum……whatever next?? My main moan is about Gareth Taylor and the need for MCFC Women to become the dominant force in the WSL and Europe in the future.
We should be so much better than these scruffy, scrappy narrow wins in the WSL that we’ve seen recently. West Ham have given us a chance of finishing third….let’s bloody take it.

We could have matched our highest score this season inside the first thirty minutes. The finish was a mixture of the grim and the insipid. We got the two goal cushion, and then on ninety mins Georgia only had to blow on the ball for 3-0 but chose to use her foot and put it wide. Plenty of creativity, but I wonder how many of those chances the Arse or CFC women would have converted. Hemp is one star of a player. As soon as she came on an element of panic was beginning to wave over the Reading defence. Froze me arse off, but three points is three points.

I'm not the biggest fan of Taylor, but let's get things straight, if it wasn't for what was a horrendous injury crisis at the start of the season, we'd probably be challenging for the title.

As has been the case for so long now, City, Chelsea and Arsenal are easily the best 3 teams and a class above United and Spurs.

Tonight's results are great for us and for next year's Champions League. We've shown previously we can give the likes of Barca a game and not many can that. United would be a huge let down in Europe, they just arent that good.

The decision to play and then persevere with a truly dreadful keeper - Taieb - was the mistake that has ruined this WSL season. When Keating (age 16) played the difference was immense.
The two key injuries were Ellie Roebuck and Chloe Kelly. Others were unfortunate but should have been dealt with. Taylor’s team selections and tactics were bizarre. Signings have proved questionable and little evidence of any Academy player progression. The omission of Janine Beckie remains a mystery.
Cups will keep Taylor in post for next season. Sadly….

Very good first half with some lovely play and movement let down by woeful finishing. Remained the better team in the second half but I thought we weren't quite as controlled. Thanks to Demi for taking a shot and actually finding the back of the net to get the ball rolling. Hemp played well when she came on, Stanway also good but her corners need some work. It was a cold wind that was blowing directly on to us and it would have been good to jump up and down with goals more often.

Other than the finishing I thought we did okay last night. The lesser played forwards were a bit rusty it seems. The exclusion of World Cup winner Janine Beckie was once again noticeable, especially after her cameo appearance against the Spudettes. Can only assume that she's off at the end of the season which wouldn't be a total shock as we do seem stocked in that area of the squad (Kelly, Raso, Park).

Agree about the keeper, Taieb just wasnt up to it.

As for Beckie, she reminds me of Sterling when she's plays up front, as her finishing is very hit and miss. We have a lot of options in forward positions now so I can understand when she doesn't play. I do like her as a footballer, but I was always more impressed by her as a right-back - I thought she was excellent whenever she played there.
