World Athletics Championships 2022 | Day 7 (pg 5)

Just caught up on Wightman's win, he was always an outside shot for a medal but phenomenal that he's done that. We needed that gold.
Wightman has always had the talent but often did not run his best race. Today he was perfect.

Other athletes to watch
- All eyes on Athing Mu, she'll easily qualify and is favourite for gold. Hogkinson shouldn't be far behind and Reekie has a chance of a medal. Rodgers for the US will also have a good medal chance. Qualification should be fairly straight forward for all of them.
- I would love Asher-Smith to medal but she'll have to be at her best, maybe a new British Record. I see Jackson and Fraser-Pryce battling it out for Gold, Steiner and Clarke will be medal hopefuls too. Olympic champion Thompson-Herah doesn't look to have the speed endurance this year but I don't want to write her off. Seyni will finish fast.
- Noah Lyles' to lose in the 200m, he's the class of the field, wouldn't be surprised to see him near Bolt's world record one day. Could be an American 1, 2, 3.

Brilliant from Hodgkinson, silver is great, if she wasn't blocked off she might have nicked it.

The gap between her and Mu is shrinking (I know they both ran slower than last year).

The race I was most looking forward to did not disappoint. Hodgkinson is young for 800m runner, still years off her peak. She will get plenty of golds in time. Oh, and she is lovely! (Sports crush building up, sorry Denise!)
